Motor Shaft Lubricant

Most diamond grinder manufacturers recommend using a motor shaft lubricant to coat the motor shaft. If a lubricant is not used, the metal diamond grinding head can sometimes become stuck on the motor shaft and it may be difficult to remove.

The manufacturer's motor shaft lubricant generally comes in a very small tube - usually about 1/10 oz and sells for about $3.50 per tube. We do not carry the expensive lubricant. We recommend merely applying a light coating of any common oil base lubricant to the shaft. We have found that Petroleum Jelly, WD-40, or machine oil works very well.
